Active shooters in workplaces and public spaces are more frequent. Mass shootings, by definition different from active shootings, seem more frequent. In the Bay Area in these last two months, multiple events and others around the nation have National VIPS (Violent Intruder Preparedness Solutions) in high demand.

The VTA active shooter incident marks an especially tragic moment in San Jose’s history. The bravery, training and ability of different police responders to coming together to end the active shooter’s rampage prevented more lives from being lost. National VIPS provides an expert analysis of the police response.

As the pandemic eases and gun violence is on the rise in the US, Kerry Harris, a workplace safety expert and co-founder of National Violent Intruder Preparedness Solutions, who leads training in active shooter response and a trauma psychiatrist who counsels survivors of violent incidents say their services are again in demand.

Schools across the country are re-evaluating safety on campus following Friday deadly events at Santa Fe High School in Texas. But is there a “right way” to prevent these shootings from happening? “It takes a holistic approach,” said Dan Davis, a co-founder of National Violent Intruder Preparedness Solutions. “There’s no one solution to this.”

Many Bay Area residents are asking what to do during an active shooter situation. To help people prepare for the worst, a South San Francisco Bay area company is conducting training sessions. Kerry Harris, is the co-founder of National Violent Intruder Preparedness Solutions.

Today marks one week since a woman opened fire at the YouTube campus in San Bruno injuring three people before killing herself.
